If you want to sell products on the internet other than at eBay. You are going to need an On-Line Store. If you do a Google search you'll come up with dozens of sites claiming to be just what you need. Big fancy looking websites designed to hypnotize you with glitz and hyped up talk. Most are not able to deliver what they claim.

You basically have three choices to start up your eCommerce store. The first would be to set up an eBay Store. Second, set up your own store and use an Ecommerce Web Hosting Company. Third, use a complete Ecommerce Store Building Package.

None of the three choices is necessarily better than the other. Each has its own merits and you need to choose which works best for you.

Ebay Store, could be the choice if you have already been selling your products on eBay. Setting up a store would be an easy solution to get started at first. Later you may want to open your own ecommerce store which you can drive traffic to from your eBay store (see in my eBay-selling how to do this legally on eBay).

Ecommerce Web Hosting Companies, provide all the necessary tools needed for an on-line store. Domain registration, email, shopping carts and everything else you would need to start. This option would best fit the more experienced with creating web pages and web sites. The web host I currently use is iPowerWeb Hosting. Ecommerce Store Building Package, would be an easier way to create your online ecommerce store. Much like an eBay store they are all inclusive pre-packaged store fronts that you customize and just add your product images and pricing.
